Upper Ardoyne Youth U14s 6 Northend United U14s 0 Saturday 17th December 2011
Northend never really got going against a very physical and large side. Playing against the wind from the start they soon found themselves on the back foot against a pacey and direct side that used their vast height advantage to good use. Northends young keeper had no chance with the two opening goals, while the left side of the defence was not as steady as expected. The main problems lay in midfield were the Northend midfielders just could not win the ball and when they did have possession it was easily won back of them. To their credit all the players tried their best but when confidence is low it is difficult to dig in deep and find that extra little bit. Half time: Upper Ardoyne 4 Northend 0
The second half saw Northend start well and they played much better than in the first half. Again the midfield only looked to impose themselves onto the opposition when M Carberry and C Neeson pushed into the middle of the park. From one of M Carberry runs Northend had their best chance however after good work by D Kilgore who found space and turned to shoot goal bound only to see the ball crash against the crossbar and fall into the keeper’s arms. Upper Ardoyne scored twice late on in the half to finish worthy winners.

Carnmoney FDC U14s 6 Northend United U14s 2 Saturday 26th November 2011
A disappointing performance saw Northend lose this game, their cause was not helped in any way with some strange refereeing decisions which drew comment from many who watched this game. Carnmoney played well from the start, moving the ball at pace around the pitch. Northend's midfield just never got to grips with their opponents throughout the match, giving to much space and time. Carnmoney opened the scoring with a penalty some what harshly given when Harry Kilgore attempted to clear the ball struck a Carnmoney player who ran from behind him and stooped to head the ball. James Morgan in the Northend goal got his hand to the ball however it was well struck and finished in the net.
Northend where living off scraps and found it hard to gain possession and when they did get the ball it was given away too easily. Again the referee allowed Carnmoney's second goal to stand when the player receiving the ball was at least seven or more yards behind the defence, the player even looked over his shoulder, waiting for a whistle, however the referee waved play on much to the annoyance of the Northend team.
A few minutes later a second penalty was given when Michael Carberry cleared the ball, however his momentum carried him to slide into a Carnmoney player. Northend, on one of their few attacks in the first half, won a free kick some twenty five yards out to the left of the Carnmoney goal. Leo Morgan stepped up and struck a fantastic shot high into the top corner of Carnmoney's goal to bring the score line some respectability. Shortly after his goal Leo Morgan had to be substituted after being on the receiving end of in the referee's opinion a clash of heads will attempting to head the ball. Half time Carnmoney FDC 3 Northend 1
The second half saw Northend play better, however even with Yanusz Woitowicz moved into midfield they just could not hold onto the ball long enough to make use of it. Carnmoney scored two more goals before Adrian Dubyna on as a sub pulled one back for Northend.
Carnmoney scored once more to finish of a good performance by them however Northend never really got going to-night and while some of the decisions by the referee were difficult to understand, Northend on the night just did not turn up with the passion or the desire to what to win this match.

Northend United U14s 2 Chimney Corner U14s 0 Saturday 19th November 2011
Northend dominated the opening half playing good football; however they managed to score only once. From the start Northend played with considerable more grit than last week, with their midfield in full control of the game. The back four where rarely troubled and when called upon they dealt with the Corner attacks comfortably. Leo Morgan continued his good form leading the line well, and with Conor Bannon pulling the strings in midfield all that was missing from a good first half performance was the inability to convert their many chances. The only goal of the half saw the ever willing Krystian Yaworski chasing down a through ball and from and almost impossible angle he managed to squeeze the ball pass the oncoming keeper and defender into the net. Half time Northend 1 Chimney Corner 0
The second half continued much as the first, Corner did up their game however they found an impassable wall of Michael Carberry and Yanusz Woitowicz well supported by Ciaran Neeson and Emmet McAllister. Northend continued to create chances and from a superb through ball by Conor Bannon, David Kilgore ran through to slide the ball into the goal to increase Northend's lead .Both sides made changes to their line up however the game ended as it started with Northend in control.

Ballyclare Colts U14s 8 Northend United U14s 1 Saturday 12th November 2011
A weakened team through injuries and suspension saw Northend take on the league leaders, Northend once again got off to the worst possible start going a goal down under 20 seconds. It did not get any better as by fifteen minutes gone they were four nil down .One of the few brighter moments of the first half saw Harry Kilgore score a brilliant goal from twenty yards out to give some respectability to the score. Another goal conceded saw a half time score of Ballyclare 5 Northend 1
The second half saw a more spirited performance however Ballyclare added to their tally another three times without reply. This was a very poor performance from the U14 team to-day. Too many players just were not up to the standard that they showed last week. Ballyclare are a very good side, however to many Northend players just let their heads drop, which was disappointing. Leo Morgan played very well, working back to help his midfield and defence, Ciaran Neeson found himself to often having to deal with two sometimes three attackers. Michael Carberry again played a captain's performance, trying to cover the many gaps in defence.
Man of the Match: Michael Carberry, Leo Morgan

Northend United U14s 3 Waveney Youth U14s 1 Saturday 5th November 2011
A very good game of football was served up by both teams in the first Derby match of the season. Why it had to take place in Mallusk as a home venue to Northend is a point the league should consider. Northend started the game with their match plan working well. The fast direct passing and the willing runners of the ball was allowing Northend to have the better of the play. Waveney however as expected forced their way into the game with strong runners in midfield who began to cause problems for the Northend defence. Chances fell to both sides, with Waveney hitting the post twice and James Morgan in the Northend goal producing two excellent saves to deny Waveney taking the lead.
Northend had their own chances but again they failed to convert them. Northend's defence began to dominate with their two centre backs a tower of strength winning the ball in the air and making strong tackles. Ciaran Neeson was again solid in defence and always alert to go forward with the ball. A strong challenge by Neeson saw him winning the ball, then passing it infield to Michael Carberry who ran past two Waveney midfielders to play a super pass to Harry Kilgore who took the ball down with his chest and fired a low shot into the Waveney goal to give Northend the lead.
This goal seemed to lift a burden of the Northend players, as they then played good football and stretched the Waveney defence constantly for the rest of the half. Half time Northend 1 Waveney 0
Northend started the second half strongly with the front pairing of Leo Morgan and Harry Kilgore linking well with their midfield. The Blues midfield of David Kilgore, Conor Bannon, Thomas Ferguson and Conor Kelly played well as a unit and David Kilgore made great runs to support Northend's front two.
Great passing play by Bannon and Morgan in midfield released Morgan free down the Northend left wing. When he crossed the ball into the Waveney penalty area, Harry Kilgore was on hand to hit it first time low into the goal to extend Northend's lead.
Waveney surged back at Northend and they finally got through the Northend defence with a good move that finished with their forward shooting pass James Morgan in the Northend goal, leaving the score at 2-1.
This was the start of an anxious few moments for the Northend team, as Waveney pressed hard to get an equalizer .Northend's defence hell firm with great tackles and a commitment not to allow another three points to slip.
Great work in midfield again found the ball played through the Waveney defence which had pushed up, and Harry Kilgore with three Waveney defenders chasing him down ran from halfway to fire the ball past Waveney's keeper for Northend's third and his hat-trick.
Both sides made changes however Northend were in no mood to concede another goal, and finished the game worthy winners with a 3-1 scoreline. The only sour note of the game was the sending off, of a player from both sides midway in the second half for what the referee consider to be constant niggles between the two players which led to a rising of hands.
Man of the Match Yanusz Woitowicz
